About Vision 2035

The Borough of Chambersburg is developing a Comprehensive Plan to identify and prioritize the Borough’s strategic goals and objectives for the next 10-year horizon.

As a local initiative, Borough staff and their technical consultants at Michael Baker International will collaborate with residents over the next year to understand what makes Chambersburg great and where investment is needed to make the Borough an even better place to live, work, play, and visit. Some of the items studied will include housing trends, diversity and equity, land use, population and business trends, transportation, parks and recreation, and other challenges and opportunities as identified by members of the public (that’s you!).

The planning process kicked off in February 2021 and is anticipated to conclude in Spring 2022.

Be Involved!

Your participation is critical to ensure the planning process includes local input and reflects the community’s diverse perspectives and opinions. There will be several opportunities for residents and stakeholders to participate beginning in June 2021. All updates and informational flyers will be posted here, so be sure to check back often to stay up-to-date on how you can participate.

As a local initiative, In addition to public participation, the Borough has organized a 16-person Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) to support the planning process. The CAC will meet several times with Borough staff and the consultant team to contribute key guidance and input as the plan is developed and finalized.
