Police Department

Welcome to the Chambersburg Police Department's Website. Our department consists of 34 fulltime officers and 3 administrative personnel. We strive to provide professional police services to more than 23,000 residents and the many visitors of Chambersburg. We work with citizens every day to maintain community safety and quality of life for our residents. We ask you to partner with our department to report suspicious activity in your neighborhood and recommend you get to know your neighbors to enhance our sense of community. As the county seat of Franklin County our department is responsible for the public safety of a diverse community at the crossroads of Route 30 and Route 11. Franklin County has been one of the fastest growing counties in the Pennsylvania in recent years.

Temporary Police Station

Please be advised that effective immediately, the Borough of Chambersburg Police Station on S. Second Street is closed.

The Police Department and all personnel have relocated into the temporary Police Station located at 1540 Orchard Drive between Wayne Avenue and Sheffler Drive.

If you require non-emergency access to the Police Department:

For administrative offices, during regular business hours, call 717-264-4131.

For non-emergencies, or during nights, weekends, and holidays, call 717-263-1611.

If you have an emergency, dial 9-1-1.

Borough offices and the balance of City Hall remain at 100 S. Second Street with no other changes anticipated.
