PLUMBER’S EXAMINING BOARD

The Plumbers’ Examining Board is established by Borough of Chambersburg Code of Ordinance Chapter 216 Plumbing. The primary duties of the Board relate to the licensure of Borough Master Plumbers. The Board establishes reasonable minimum requirements of training and experience for applicants to become licensed master plumbers, reviews individuals’ applications for licenses, provides a written exam to qualified applicants, and certifies the applicants who qualify for licensure.

The Board consists of six members which include the Water and Sewer Superintendent, the Water and Sewer System Inspector, the Code Official or their representative, and three additional member appointed by Town Council who are plumbers licensed by the Borough of Chambersburg.

The Board’s work ensures that individuals performing plumbing work at Borough residences and businesses are qualified and can perform that work in accordance local and state regulations.
